The Indian Head Massage, also known as Champissage, is a therapeutic massage technique that focuses on the recipients head, neck, shoulders and upper-arms.

During an Indian Head Massage, the practitioner will use a series of massage techniques to ease both mental and physical stress and tension by stimulating nerves, loosening muscles and relaxing tissues.

It can also increase circulation to the brain calming the mind, aid relaxation and improve hair and scalp conditions. It is therefore highly beneficial to clients with stress and tension-related disorders, giving at least a feeling of well being to the client.

Workplace – Indian Head Massage Session

These days we are all aware of the negative effects of stress and many employers are trying to reduce stress in the workplace. Indian Head Massage is a great way of achieving this; it is proven to reduce muscle tension in the back, neck, head and shoulders, increase morale and reduce anxiety and depression. It is an ideal form of workplace massage – it is only about 20 minutes in length and done through clothes so there is no need to undress. All that is needed is a quiet room or area where the treatment can take place.

Many organisations have also found that offering employees regular Indian Head Massage in the workplace reduces absence from work through sickness.
